Getaway vacation packages are easy to arrange on the Ottawa Tourism website. You'll find girls' getaways, spa getaways, romantic weekend getaways and family getaways.
Ottawa packages include accommodations, tickets, attractions and, depending on the vacation package, spa certificates and restaurant meals. Some getaway ideas, such as the Winterlude Family Getaway, are seasonal.
Girlfriend getaway
The Girlfriends Getaway package includes Ottawa hotel accommodations for two nights for two people, a Rideau Centre savings booklet, a free Ottawa shopping magazine and a choice of admission tickets to Ottawa attractions, such as the National Gallery of Canada and the Canadian Museum of Civilization.
The getaway package includes a $50 gift card for Holtz Spa treatments. You can add additional vouchers to the girlfriend getaway.
Celebration vacation
If you're looking for a birthday getaway, anniversary getaway, or a vacation getaway to celebrate another special occasion, you can customize an Ottawa package to suit your interests and budget.
The Celebration Vacation package includes two nights' lodging at an Ottawa hotel, a three-course dinner for two at Le Cordon Bleu Bistro @ Signatures and a Rideau Centre savings brochure. You also receive one of the following: tickets to an Ottawa Senators hockey game, admission to a selected Ottawa museum or gallery or a Holtz spa gift card.
Hockey packages
The Hockey Night in the Capital package is ideal for a guys' getaway, a father and son bonding experience or a family getaway. It provides two tickets to an Ottawa Senators game, one night Ottawa lodging for two adults, and dinner at The Ledge Carvery or the Senate Club roast beef buffet at Scotiabank Place.
Hockey package participants can choose a luxury or budget Ottawa hotel, specific seats, games against the Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs, Boston Bruins and other teams. Hockey Night in the Capital packages are available for the entire hockey season.
Romantic getaway package
Rendez-Vous for Two is a couples' package for honeymoon getaways or a romantic weekend getaway in Ottawa. The romantic escape includes two nights in an Ottawa hotel, a Rideau Centre shopping savings brochure, admission to a choice of Ottawa museums and galleries and an invitation to a Library and Archives Canada exhibit.
Also suitable for romantic vacation getaways are Ottawa Cultural packages. You can add tickets to a performance at the National Arts Centre to the two-night couples' getaway. In addition to Ottawa hotel accommodations and museum admissions, Sip, Savour & Spa packages include a gift certificate for Holtz Spa treatments.
Besides two nights in an Ottawa hotel, the Casino du Lac-Leamy getaway package provides $50 in casino chips, two-for-the-price-of-one buffet at Banco Restaurant and a gift certificate for La Boutique du Casino.
Family getaways
The Ottawa Family Discovery package includes two nights for four people (two adults maximum), a Library & Archives Canada exhibition invitation, a Rideau Centre brochure for shopping savings and family admission to two Ottawa museums.
Not to be missed is the Canadian Museum of Nature. Located near Parliament Hill, the century-old Victoria Memorial Building features a Water Gallery with a suspended blue whale skeleton, a free HD Theatre and an Earth Gallery, which includes a recently fallen meteorite.
Winter getaways
Held every February, Winterlude is the perfect time for winter family getaways in Ottawa. The Winterlude Family Getaway package includes two nights at an Ottawa hotel for four people (up to two adults), admission to a choice of museums and a discount booklet for the Rideau Centre. You can skate on the Rideau Canal Skateway and view illuminated ice sculptures for free.
Winterlude Rendezvous for Two is a romantic getaway package. In addition to the Ottawa hotel room and museum admission, it includes a Holtz Spa gift certificate.
Ottawa restaurants
During Taste of Winterlude, you can eat at participating restaurants serving special prix-fixe menus. Throughout the year, Ottawa offers hundreds of restaurants to visitors on getaway vacation packages. For starters, try a ByWard Market restaurant, ZenKitchen, the first gourmet vegan restaurant, in Ottawa and the new Le Cordon Bleu cooking school restaurant, Bistro @ Signatures.
