U.S. NATIONAL WHITEWATER CENTER
CHARLOTTE NORTH CAROLINA

The world's most unique outdoor recreation and environmental learning experience is located just 10 minutes from downtown Charlotte, North Carolina, and visible from I-85.

U.S. National Whitewater Center features four man-made channels of Class III to IV whitewater for raft, canoe and kayak enthusiasts of all abilities, from amateurs to Olympic-caliber athletes. The river has an upper starting pool and a lower finishing pool, connected by an incline conveyor belt system to return boaters to the top of the course.

The Whitewater Center hosted the Olympic kayaking trials for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

Set among 300 wooded acres, along the scenic Catawba River, the world-class recreation and training facility features the tallest climbing wall on the U.S. East coast, more than 11 miles of mountain biking, hiking and running trails, as well as primitive campsites.

The park also has a lodge, restaurant, shops, conference center, pavilion and theater.
