The Cirque du Soleil touring show, Corteo, is one of many Cirque du Soleil productions being performed around the world.
Corteo, which means "cortege" in Italian, is a joyous procession, a festive parade imagined by a clown. He pictures his own funeral in a carnival atmosphere, watched over by angels, with fluffy white wings.
Like other Cirque du Soleil shows, it dazzles audiences with innovative circus acts, like walking upside-down on a high-wire. It encourages viewers to participate in the show by bouncing a "balloon lady" into the air. It creates laughter, surprise and awe.
Corteo features 50 artists from 13 different countries: Armenia, Belarus, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, France, Italy, Romania, Russia, Spain, Ukraine, the United Kingdom and the United States.
