NEW ZEALAND HOSTS
ADVENTURE RACING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

The 2005 Adventure Racing World Championship will be held on the West Coast of New Zealand from November 11 to 19.

Sixty teams from countries including Canada, the U.S., Australia, New Zealand, France, Poland, Czech, South Africa, Sweden, Finland, Brazil, Holland, Chile, Spain, U.K., Guatemala, Croatia, Russia and Japan will compete.

Competitors will trek, mountain bike, cave, abseil, kayak and raft through the rugged landscape of the West Coast. The region is home to some of New Zealand's highest mountains, lowest glaciers, wildest beaches, longest caves and lowland forest areas.

"We have the world's leading adventure racers coming to race. It will be fantastic to see them compete on the world stage in New Zealand," says ARWorld Series director Geoff Hunt. "The West Coast will offer an enormous challenge, and for many competitors, it will be the toughest course they've ever taken on."
