Zurich's light sculptures and Christmas illuminations feature the world's largest timepiece along the Bahnhofstrasse, bridges bathed in light and sparkling lights on Christmas trees. Christmas markets, shows and Sunday shopping take place before Christmas.
Zurich Tourism introduces visitors to the sights, traditions and history of Christmas on two-hour guided Christmas walking tours held until December 23. Participants enjoy the concert of the Singing Christmas Tree.
On New Year's Eve, Zurich's hoteliers stage a gigantic fireworks display over Lake Zurich, during the largest outdoor New Year's Eve party in Switzerland.
