GERMANY BEACH CLUBS AND BEACH BARS

German beach clubs and beach bars allow visitors to sunbathe, play ball and relax with cocktails and cool drinks under shady trees in the middle of German cities.

There are 16 beach bars in Berlin, Germany's capital. The Spreebrucke bathing boat, anchored at the Arena in the Treptow neighbourhood, is a floating pool with an enlarged sun deck and a panoramic view along the Spree River.

The Mitte beach bar in Monbijou Park is in central Berlin, near the shops of Oranienburger Strasse and Hackeschen Market. It offers sand, beach chairs, water, music and tall drinks.

In Cologne, the km 689 Cologne Beach Club is on the Rhine, at the river's 689-km mark, in the open-air Tanzbrunnen (dancing fountains) complex. Beach chairs, 1,100 tons of sand, Spanish designer furniture and hammocks offer views of the Cologne Gothic cathedral. Drinks, ice cream and beach towel rentals are available from tropical-style beach huts.

King Kamehameha Beach Club is on a harbor island in the Main River, by Frankfurt. Guests can dance to DJs in the party zone. Kids can build sandcastles or play in the big game ship and a children's playground.

The Hamburg beach bar, del mar, combines a beach club and restaurant on the Elbe River. Guests can enjoy beautiful sunsets over the river, while lying in a beach chair with a cocktail in hand, and toes in sand brought in from Germany's North Sea island of Helgoland.

Seaside Beach Baldeney on Lake Baldeney in Essen, in the Ruhr Valley, features lounge beds, hammocks, beach volleyball, surfing and rustic beach barbeques.
