SOOKE HARBOUR HOUSE AND WICKANINNISH INN
TOP TRAVEL AND LEISURE SURVEY

Two Vancouver Island hotels were ranked among the top five properties by Travel & Leisure magazine in their annual World's Best Awards readers' survey of The Best in the Continental US and Canada.

The Sooke Harbour House won second place, and the Wickaninnish Inn closely followed at fifth. All but one of the top ten hotels were small, with fewer than 100 rooms.

Sooke Harbour House

Overlooking a dramatic Pacific beach and the Olympic Mountains, 45 minutes from Victoria, Sooke Harbour House has 28 individually appointed suites. The cutting edge stated in the Travel & Leisure survey is Chef Edward Tuson's inventive Pacific Northwest cuisine.

Wickaninnish Inn

Located on a rocky promontory on the west coast of Vancouver Island, between the coastal rainforest and the Pacific Ocean, Wickaninnish Inn offers casual elegance. Travel & Leisure notes that the Dungeness crab cookout on Chesterman Beach is a not-to-miss experience.

In the survey of Travel & Leisure magazine subscribers, respondents rated hotels on rooms/facilities, location, service, restaurants/food, and value.
