CORTINA D'AMPEZZO
ITALIAN DOLOMITES SKI HOLIDAYS

Only a couple hours from Venice, Cortina D'Ampezzo is easily accessible from the International Airport Marco Polo. During the winter season, an airport shuttle bus runs for hotel guests from Venice and Treviso airports to Cortina hotels.

With 6,000 inhabitants, Cortina has 55 hotels, 80 restaurants, 56 mountain huts or rifugi, high-class shops, selling Italian fashions and local crafts and apres-ski at wine bars and local pubs.

Several movies were filmed in Cortina: Ash Wednesday, starring Elizabeth Taylor and Henry Fonda, The Pink Panther, starring David Niven and Peter Sellers, For Your Eyes Only, starring Roger Moore, VonRyan Express, starring Frank Sinatra, and Cliffhanger, starring Sylvester Stallone.

Cortina is part of the Dolomiti Superski area, the biggest ski carousel in the world, offering 750 miles of skiing and 450 lifts, all in the same ski pass.

Cortina D'Ampezzo events

Winter events include the Bobsleigh World Cup and European Championships, Men's & Women's Cup "Europa" and Ladies Alpine Ski World Cup, in January, Cross Country International Race and Cortina Winter Polo on Snow, in February, and Carving, Hockey, Curling, Snowboard and Sled Dog Championships between December and April.
