WIMCO VILLA RENTALS LISTS ST BARTS
ANNUAL FESTIVALS AND SPECIAL EVENTS

The villa rental and hotel reservations company, Wimco, suggests several St. Barts festivals to guests staying at its villas.

St. Barths Music Festival, in January, attracts musicians from Italy, New Orleans, Jamaica and London. Music-lovers will enjoy Villa VUE, an elegant three-bedroom villa, with one of the best sound systems on St. Barts. Located on Colombier hillside, with views of Gustavia Harbour, the villa's spacious living area overlooks an infinity pool. A third master suite is in a separate cottage.

The St. Barths Carnival parade, in February, starts Lent with costumed revellers dancing in the streets. Celebrations continue until the early hours of Ash Wednesday. On Mecredi des Cendres, the last day of celebrations, the colorful costumes change to black and white. The spirit of the French Caribbean Carnival changes when Vaval (an effigy representing the spirit of Carnival) is taken to the coast to be burned, banishing him for another year.

Carnival parade viewers with children may want to stay at the three-bedroom Villa BAR, located on a private hillside, with views over Grand Cul De Sac. The property is spacious, with a large infinity pool overlooking the ocean, a loft area above the living room and a state-of-the-art kitchen.

At the annual Caribbean Film Festival, in April, the Caribbean film industry visits St. Barts for a week of screenings. Celebrities, wanting privacy and space for private screenings, can stay at Villa AOM in the private gated community of Mont Jean. The four-bedroom villa offers spectacular views over Tortue Island and Marigot Bay from every room. Interiors are decorated with art from local artists. The state-of-the-art media room has a home cinema with surround sound.

Mode St. Barths fashion week begins in June. Celebrities and designers, in town for the fashion shows, can stay at the four-bedroom Villa CEL. It offers spectacular ocean views over the deserted island of Bonhomme. A full-size billiard table doubles as a dining table. The outside terrace has a dining area that seats eight to ten people.

Festival of St. Barthélemy, in August, features regattas, fireworks and a Ball. For guests who want to watch the regattas, Wimco recommends Villa BOT, above Gande Cul de Sac. The modern three-bedroom villa offers superb ocean views from its hillside location.

Besides villa accommodations, Wimco reservations staff book rental cars, boat charters, villa provisions, babysitters, flights, transfers and dinner reservations. Wimco also books private villas and distinctive hotels in St. Martin, Barbados, Italy, France, and other destinations in Europe and the Caribbean.
