The Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center, an accredited member of the American Zoo and Aquarium Association, offers two harbor seal programs this summer in Virginia Beach.
During the Harbor Seal Splash program, visitors climb into the seals' aquarium to interact and train with these 250-pound pinnipeds, while discovering more about the natural history and conservation efforts that surround harbor seals.
Seals Behind the Scenes is a one-hour program allowing guests, as young as three, into the restricted harbor seal holding building to meet some of the educators, professional animal training staff — and a seal or two. Participants will learn about the natural history of seals and animal training techniques.
