BEIJING 2008 OLYMPIC TICKET PRICES

Ticket sales for the 2008 Beijing Olympics are based on prices set by the Beijing Olympic Organizing Committee. Ticket prices for games range from 30 to 1,000 yuan. Closing ceremony tickets are 150 to 3,000 yuan.

The approximate conversion rate for one Chinese yuan renminbi is $0.15 US.

Prices for Archery, Marathon and Athletics Olympic events

Archery Olympics ticket prices are 100 yuan for the Mens Individual Semifinals and Gold Medal Match at Olympic Green Archery Field on August 15.

Mens Marathon Final tickets cost 50 yuan.

At the National Stadium, Athletics competitions, Womens High Jump Final ticket prices are 200 to 800 yuan.

Baseball, Badminton, Basketball and Beach Volleyball Olympics ticket prices

Tickets for the Mens Gold Medal Game on August 23 at Wukesong Baseball Field are 80 and 150 yuan.

At Beijing University of Technology Gymnasium, Badminton Mens Singles and Mixed Doubles Finals tickets cost 200 and 500 yuan.

Olympic ticket prices are 300, 600 and 1,000 yuan for the Basketball Mens Bronze and Gold Medal Match at Wukeson Indoor Stadium.

Beach Volleyball Mens Bronze and Gold Medal ticket prices are 200 and 400 yuan for the match at Chaoyang Park Beach Volleyball Ground.

Olympic Boxing, Canoe, Kayak, Cycling tickets

Mens Light Fly Weight, Bantam Weight, Lightweight, Welter Weight and Super Heavyweight tickets cost 200 and 400 yuan for the August 24 Final Bout at Workers Indoor Arena.

Canoe and Kayak Flatwater Mens and Womens ticket prices are 80 yuan for the Finals on August 23 at Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park.

Olympic tickets cost 100 yuan for the Motor Cross Cycling Mens and Womens Race Finals on August 21 at the Laoshan Bicycle Moto Cross (BMX) Venue.

At Laoshan Velodrome, on August 19, Track Cycling for Womens and Mens Sprint Finals tickets are 100 yuan.

Prices for Diving, Equestrian, Football and Fencing Olympics tickets

Mens Platform Diving ticket prices are 150, 300 and 500 yuan for the Final on 23 August at the National Aquatics Center.

At the Hong Kong Equestrian Venue in Shatin, on 21 August, Equestrian Individual Jumping Final tickets cost 200 and 400 yuan.

Football Olympic tickets cost 200, 400, 600 and 800 yuan for the Mens Gold Medal Match on 23 August at the National Stadium.

Fencing tickets for Mens Team Sabre Bronze and Gold Medal Matches on 17 August in the Fencing Hall are 100 yuan.

Gymnastics, Trampoline and Handball Olympic Games

Ticket prices are 150 and 300 yuan for the Womens Beam Final and Mens Horizontal Bar and Trampoline Finals at the National Indoor Stadium, on August 19.

Olympic Handball Mens Gold Medal Match tickets cost 150 and 300 yuan.

Ticket prices for Hockey, Judo and Pentathalon Olympics

Womens Gold Medal Match tickets cost 100 and 150 yuan for August 22 on Pitch 1 of the Olympic Green Hockey Field. Mens Gold Medal Match tickets are 100 and 150 yuan for August 23.

At the University of Science and Technology Beijing Gymnasium, the August 15 Womens Judo and 78 kilo Final and Mens 100 kilo Judo Final tickets are 80 and 200 yuan.

Prices of tickets for Modern Pentathalon Womens and Mens Riding and Running at the Olympic Sports Center Stadium are 30 yuan.

Rowing, Sailing, Shooting and Softball Olympics ticket prices

On August 17, at Shunji Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park, Mens Quadruple Skulls and Womens and Mens Eight Final tickets cost 40 and 80 yuan.

Sailing Olympic ticket prices are 600 yuan for Womens Windsurfer, Mens Keelboat and Multihull Tornado Race at Qingdao International Marina on August 20.

Prices of tickets are 50 yuan for Mens 50 m Rifle 3 Position Final at Beijing Shooting Range on August 17.

Womens Softball Grand Final tickets are 60 and 120 yuan for August 21 at Fengtai Softball Field.

Swimming Olympics tickets

Ticket prices for Womens and Mens Freestyle Finals are 200, 400 and 800 yuan for August 17 at the National Aquatics Center.

Synchronized Swimming tickets cost 100, 300 and 500 yuan for Free Routine Finals on August 23.

Tennis, Taekwondo and Triathalon Olympic ticket prices

Mens Singles Gold Match and Womens Doubles Tennis Gold tickets cost 300 and 600 yuan for the August 17 match at the Olympic Green Tennis Center.

Taekwondo Womens and Mens Quarterfinals, Semifinals, Bronze and Gold Medal ticket prices are 100 and 200 yuan for 23 August at the University of Science and Technology Beijing Gymnasium.

Ticket prices for Mens and Womens Triathalon Finals are 50 yuan.

Olympic Table Tennis, Volleyball, Weightlifting, Waterpolo and Wrestling tickets

At Peking University Gymnasium, Womens Singles Bronze and Gold Medal Matches and Mens Singles Bronze and Gold Medal Matches ticket prices are 200, 400 and 800 yuan.

Olympic Volleyball ticket prices are 200, 400 and 600 yuan for Mens Bronze and Gold Medal Matches on August 24 at the Capital Indoor Stadium in Beijing.

Ticket prices are 100 and 200 yuan for Olympic Weightlifting Mens 105 kilo+ at Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics Gymnasium on August 19.

Game tickets cost 200 and 400 yuan for the August 24 Olympic Water Polo Bronze and Gold Medal game at Ying Tung Natatorium.

At China Agriculture University Gymnasium, the August 14 Olympic Wrestling Mens Greco Roman Bronze and Gold Medal Matches ticket prices are 100 and 200 yuan.



Beijing Summer Olympics Ticket Prices

Olympic commemorative coins

The People's Bank of China has issued two sets of coins to commemorate the 29th Olympic Games. A set of two coins, each engraved with the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games emblem and the image of the National Stadium and its tracks, have a face value of one yuan.

A set of six coins, two made from gold and four from silver, are engraved with the Olympics emblem and a pair of dragons. In 2007 and 2008, the bank issued two more sets of coins.

Beijing Olympic Stadium

The main Olympic stadium, the National Stadium in Beijing, was completed in late 2007. It measures 333 meters long by 284 meters wide and 69 meters high (1,093 feet long by 932 feet wide and 226 feet high).

Called the "Bird's Nest," because it looks like a giant bird's nest with interwoven twigs, it seats 91,000 spectators during the Olympics. The stadium will be used for track and field events and football finals.

Olympic news

The International Olympic Committee named China's Xinhua News Agency as the host agency for the 29th Olympic Games. Xinhua set up the National Olympic Photography Pool and AP, Reuters and AFP are organizing the International Olympic Photography Pool.

Olympics-accredited international reporters are promised unfettered access at the 2008 Games and an exemption from visas. Overseas vehicles can also enter China and journalists can apply for temporary driving permits. The BOCOG is considering applications to film cultural relics.

A new reality television show on CCTV5, the official broadcaster of the Olympics, launches in Beijing in 2008, then tours all cities that have hosted the Olympic Games. Eight former Chinese Olympic medalists compete to become the New World Music Star. Composer, artist, star-maker and mother of violinist Vanessa Mae, Pamela Nicholson, launched the TV show.

Award-winning director Oliver Stone and Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi created short films to promote the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, as part of the ongoing Vision Beijing program.
