Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts first hotel in Southwest China is the Shangri-La Hotel, Chengdu. The 594-room hotel is located in Chengdu city center, in the Swell Fun historic site, the oldest wine lane in the world, according to Guinness Book of World Records.

The Shangri-La Hotel, Chengdu is a 25-minute drive from Chengdu International Airport and an easy 15-minute walk from the Chunxi Road Pedestrian shopping area.
Shangri-La Hotel Chengdu overlooks the Ming and Qing Dynasty-style Lang Bridge and the Jinjiang River, "the green necklace around the neck of Chengdu," where the Fu and Nan Rivers meet.
Things to do in Chengdu
During the day, visitors enjoy traditional tea houses, shops and restaurants along the rivers. Lights illuminate the bridge at night. Built in the Tang Dynasty, the Hejian Pavilion is also located here. Local residents believe it's a lucky site.

Meeting and function rooms
The Grand Ballroom is the largest of its type in the Chengdu city center, with 22,606 square feet of floor space and a 30-foot-high ceiling. A large elevator allows car exhibitions in the Grand Ballroom. For smaller conferences and meetings, there are 16 function rooms and an auditorium.
